How to develop the new leadership capabilities we need now and in the future.
Free online seminar, Tues 14th June 2022, 5pm to 6pm UK time (email me to register to attend)
We might have hoped that once Covid had passed, everything would go back to normal. And in some ways it has, but in many ways things are tougher than ever.
Most leaders are still dealing with the organisational challenges, work-life changes, and widespread fatigue in the wake of the pandemic, while still wrestling with the ever-growing systemic issues of declining funding, skills shortages, and increasing need from the ongoing cuts to public services.
Add in the social dimensions of polarisation, disinformation, scapegoating and exclusion; of the resurgence of refugees, recessions and racism, compounded now by European war, culture war, and the never-ending saga of Brexit; all in a context of increasing economic inequality, widespread food poverty, and the now spiralling cost of living.
This is the whirlwind, at the centre of which sector leaders now find themselves, with more still yet to play out: climate change, the mental health crisis, new covid variants, the long term consequences of poverty and deprivation. These aren’t going anywhere soon; the outlook is set for more storms.
It’s no wonder so many of our sector leaders are exhausted, because if one thing is clear, it’s that the leadership models we had in the past, the ones we still operate today, were never designed for conditions like these.
So, what does sustainable, effective leadership need to look like for extraordinarily challenging times?
What do we need to be doing now so we can not just survive, but collectively perform at our very best, and build resilient organisations that can sustainably fulfil their missions whatever the weather?
I’ve spent much of the last three months in conversations with leaders, leadership teams, and groups of CEOs, to try work out some of the answers.
Join me for an hour on the evening of Tuesday 14th of June to hear and discuss the potential for a new model, the changes I think we need to embrace, the challenges we will face in making the shift, and how we can go about making it stick.
These seminars represent a rare opportunity for leaders from disparate organisations, to step away from the day-to-day, to think more strategically about the opportunities in front of them, and to learn new and better ways to drive their success.
To book your place, simply drop me an email and I will register you and forward the Zoom details. Feel free to share this invitation with colleagues and those in your network whom you think might be interested.
