CEO Breakfast Dec 2020

Breakfast SeminarThe Future of Volunteering

Tuesday 8th December 2020, 8:00-10:00am

The profile, uptake and even the nature of volunteering has shifted, in some ways dramatically, since the start of the pandemic.

This fluidity and pace of change that we’ve seen so far, will only accelerate as some people return to work while others lose their jobs and systems come under increasing pressure: increased waits for treatment and care, rising pressures falling on the most disadvantaged and vulnerable, the escalating challenges of isolation and mental health, and so on, and so on.

Across all these areas, the role of volunteering has never been more critical. So, nine months in, what have we learned? What could the future of volunteering look like in this rapidly shifting landscape? And for us as leaders, how can we adapt our organisations and help our teams re-imagine volunteering, to meet these new and rapidly growing challenges?

To share insights, experiences, challenges and practical solutions around this urgent and far-reaching topic, I am hosting a complimentary online breakfast seminar, exclusively for charity CEOs, on Tuesday the 8th December 2020 on The Future of Volunteering. This session will provide a unique opportunity for facilitated, in-depth, open and honest discussion with a high-level group of experienced peers.

My guest speaker will be Catherine Johnstone, CEO of Royal Voluntary Service who, along with my other guests, will share insights from their respective thinking and emerging approaches. The seminar will begin at 8:00am on Zoom and will finish at 10:00am.

You will walk away with a clear understanding of:

  • The core principles of success so far in the pandemic
  • The mindset and key capabilities that are proving their worth in dynamic, high pressure volunteering leadership
  • How to create easy to access and responsive mechanisms
  • How to shape opportunities to suit both the need and the volunteers
  • Which emerging volunteering models and new technologies are showing the greatest potential for shaping the future
